Description
I have for sale this 10 string Eddie Alkire E-Harp.
This is a rare vintage steel guitar that is in great shape for its age.
It was made some time between 1946 and 1950. Ten-string lap steels are very rare and even more rare in that era. Eddie Alkire was an innovator and took the instrument to the next level, by including so many extra strings and new tunings. You really have limitless possibilities in how you will want to tune this. I have had a lot of fun over the years trying many new tunings on it.
See the videos and pics for the condition of this instrument. The steel sounds great as you’ll hear, but it also has few blemishes considering its age. The one downside is it may need new volume and tone pots. It sounds great but the pots scratch a little when turned. It is possible that it just needs a spray with some pot cleaner. Rather than alter the vintage character of the instrument, I leave it to the buyer to update the pots. The hand guard that you see on these E-harps is also missing, though I find those guards to obstruct my natural hand position while playing, so I’ve never had a need to use it.
Comes with the original case which is in great shape and still has the keys.
Buyer pays for shipping. Should be about $75 or less for most places in the USA.
I’d be happy to answer any questions you have!
